here is something i just finish putting together. Savege 93R17TR in .17 HMR obviously. falcon menace optics, Harris bipod, weaver rings on EGW 20MOA rail . the scope looks a little big for this rim fire but i originally bought the scope thinking i'd build a 308 rifle but that never happened, so id have to use what i have for now.

took it out to the range for sight in. @200 yards ,i was able to split half a clay pigeons into 1/4 pieces then hit those 1/4 shot after shot with 20 grain V-max. so that's pretty accurate enough for hunting.

Very nice rifle, glad to see other stuff than SR's and standard 10/22's. I own an SR 22 but I am getting bored of that being the primary topic of this section. Please keep us informed on how it shoots!

Wow, that looks awesome~congrats! I really like the TR, and ALMOST bought a TRR back in the fall. As cool as that rail system looked, seemed too bulky in the flesh. So, I had Epps put a TR and a CZ 452 Varmint on the bench side by side. I'd never known indecision like that. I stood there for 15 minutes, shouldering/cycling both. I ended-up with the CZ, but really liked the TR...especially the over-sized bolt handle. Awesome for guys with big mitts like me. ;) A buddy of mine bought the TR in .17HMR and absolutely loves it, I think I'll be happiest when I have both.

Scope~yours looks great, I totally over-scoped my CZ too.

My rifle only needs to please me, after all. Besides, if I ever end up with the .223 I want, I can always swap it over to that.

meh looks ok i guess, if you really want to make it look like it should then stick it in MY gun case ;)

really though nice rifle, hope it shoots as good as it looks

Rustspot,

That looks really nice. I am hoping to pick up a TR in .22 this year. Where did you find the EGW rail? Price?

Cheers!

I tried getting it via different online retailers but they didn't have the permit to export it. So I went to their website to try my luck and turns out they do sell direct. It was like 30-40 bucks. Very reasonable. I got it couple months back so I don't remember the exact price. Check their website.

And you should consider .17. It's such a neat round with pin point accuracy and could reach 200 yards with good accuracy.

Thanks, I will check their website.

I already have a .17HMR in a different model. I was looking at the TR in .22 as a cheap alternative to my Savage 10FP McMillan in .308 for practice/training. But if I am happy with the stock on the .22 TR I will probably end up buying the .17 as well. :)

very nice guys! i love looking a pics of the pride and joys, thank you.....if only i could figure how to upload my own pics??

Thanks guys. I was going to do a group the other day at the range ,but while I was shooting my other rifles ,my newbie friend took my rifle and wasted 40 rounds of the 60 that I had with me. He was trying to hit target at 100 when I had the gun dial in for 200 *facepalm* he was wondering why he couldn't hit anything....*double facepalm* so I got to do an accuracy test some other day. But another friend of mine who had a stainless version of the 93 shot a 1/4 inch( same hole) group at 50 yards with the first 3 shot of sighting in and it was only front rested and not on a vice. That was pretty impressive.

Falcon menace. From Allen gun works ( banner up top) got the scope a year and half ago and finally found something to mount it on. Haha.

Hey man I am in love with this rifle, I am just waiting for my dealer to get one in... I am itching to get it.. I bought some cheap glass for it, (a replica leupold mark 4 with M3 turrets), I am hoping it'll hold up, especially to the low recoil, time will tell though. I read in the previous comments that you got your EGW rail directly from them? If not then where exactly, because I do not really want to stick with the two piece factory rail.

Also, what is the drop like from 100 to 200 yards? My calculation suggests about 8 inches? or am i over exaggerating from when i last checked my data table? (I am planning on using 17 gr v-max). How much was the scope if you dont mind me asking.
