Hi Guys,

Can anyone give me some guidance on how tight the hex head bolts should be on a Picatinny type scope ring. I have PRI steel rings. I don't have any torque measuring devices that go low enough to be of assistance. I do not want to damage anything by overtightening. I have been using a nut driver and tightening to a "firm" hand twist. Is that correct?

Best regards,
Bill

I do what they call "finger tight". Tighten them down using just your thumb and index finger at the end of the allen key until they can't be tightened any more using just this method. It tightens them down good and tight but doesn't over tighten them....
