I'm looking to make my Mossberg 500 Tactical cruiser useful but I'm caught between two choices. My wife and son want pistol grip front and rear, I want something I can aim! I am going to get a rail and have a red dot for it.

Now I'm thinking ATI 6 position rear and pistol grip front? What do you think?

What about a red dot with the top folder and pistol grip front? Would it clear and sit between the sides of the stock or is there no room for one?

Red dot is a single lense BSA.

Anyone running one of these setups? Pics?

The Knox Spec-ops doesn't get good reviews for it's cheek weld.

The ATI or Speedfeed-IV are what I'll be looking for when I buy a shotgun...

:)

Do not under any circumastances get a top folder. You would be better off just getting a pistol grip instead. When aiming down the sights with the stock extended, the folder will cut your cheek. The only way to prevent that is to wrap some cloth or similar material around it, which then prevents you from folding the stock at all.

I was in the same situation as you a while back, I ended up buying a 'Pistol Grip Buttstock' and love it. You can fire it from the hip like a standard pistol grip, or from the shoulder to very good effect. It feels very ergonomic and seems like an 'all in one' item.

Just a picture in case you don't recall what it looks like.

I agree with you guys, had a oppurtunity to buy a folder for a good price but it looks like it would wreck you try to get a cheek weld.

I think it's going to be the ATI 6 position stock. I like the adjustable LOP for my wife and son and the looks/usability for me.

Thanks for the input.

It was said above, the mossberg safety location is not usually considered compatible with a pistol grip only or pistol grip/stock setup... You cant access the safety with your hand seated on the grip/your finger on or in the trigger gaurd.

I know its not as cool, but take a look at a hogue reduced LOP stock and overmoulded forend, its probably more functional. Perhaps get yourself a good sling too!
