Hey guys, I'm doing the "quality vs quantity" thing, and have decided to limit myself to one good shotgun, and sell off the ones I have. This will be used for everything from Turkey to ducks to geese to deer to sporting clays....Heres my want list:

Synthetic/camo (I love pretty guns, but this shotgun will be a working gun, so no walnut/blue)

26" barrel (Short enough for the turkey bush, but long enough to swing decently)

3.5" chamber (better to have it and not need it........)

reliable.

Priced less than 1500 (new or used...not picky...less is better :) )

Whatchathink?

Since you mentioned $1500.....Epps has a new SBE II in synthetic (black) with a 26 inch bbl for $1644.....:)

P.S. BTW, I am hoping you would provide me with a feedback for that recent exchange - good or bad :)

Benelli M2 right at your price limit of $1500.00

The M2 would been an excellent choice. In fact, the last one that I had (a 12ga with 28in bbl) I traded for a 28ga o/u recently.

However, for some strange and obscure reason I have yet to see an M2 12ga with a 26 inch barrel in the ON gunshops .....I've seen 26in on M2 20ga, but never a 12

Benelli Cordoba. The SuperSport in hunting guise, comes in camo too. The shortest barrel however is 28" but since it'll probably see the least use as and upland gun the 28" is a good balance for clays and the blind. 3.5" Is not a neccesity and limits your choices a bit.

Forget the M2 if you want 3.5", it only comes in 3". You've set your price limit too low for a CAMO 3.5" (unless you get an 11-87). A 3" you can do, but if you want 3.5 you'll have to spend $1700+.

My vote goes for the Beretta Extrema 2 with the Kick-off, hardwoods green, 26", $1699 :)

the extrema is an excellent gun in either #1 or #2...they shoulder and feel a bit different but are engineered very well. I use my extrema I for all the things you listed in the exact config you specified and it works for everything. It is a bit of a hog to carry for upland though...for that I would recommend a nice 20 ga SxS.

You can get a new Beretta Xtrema II in HD camo with a 24" barrel from Epps for only $1200 (or $1400 with the KO stock.) That may be just the "all around" shotgun you are seeking, at a great price to boot.

Remington 11-87. Cheap (relatively), reliable, parts everywhere, all kinds of after market stuff available, and no changing parts to use different shells.

You're "a few hundred off " on those prices !

NG16653 REDUCED NON-RESTRICTED, BERETTA A391 XTREMA 2 KICK OFF CAMO HARDWOODS HD, SEMI-AUTO, 12GA X 3-1/2", 24" VR BBL, OPTIMA CHOKES (5), HARDWOODS HD CAMO FINISH, SYNTHETIC STOCK WITH GRIP PANELS, KICK OFF RECOIL REDUCTION SYSTEM, STOCK SHIM KIT, GEL-TEK RECOIL PAD, SLING SWIVELS, HARD CASE - $1399

Browning Silver, Man they fit great nice to point etc.

BUT Me, I bought a Baikal MP-153, $600 NEW! I have owned Brownings, Remingtons, Berettas etc but I LOVE MY MP-153 I got the 24" bbl, swings great. Yes they are availabel in Camo but it is done locally and feels like #### (bubbles and dirt)

For the money you want to spend, you can have two.

If the Baikal is not for you, I have yet to meet a Beretta owner that wasn't 100% satisfied, I just found them too heavy.
