just received a package in the mail today.
2 upgraded i have been wanting to do for a while for my mini 14.

currently im running a non-glass blued one on a Hogue stock for plinking.
but as i get older im finding im starting to put more and more glass on my guns, so it was time for a bit of a upgrade for my mini 14.
i picked up a weigand ruger scope mount.
now i could have just easily used the rings that came with the ruger but i want to set it up like my Ruger Scout in that i want to mount my scope on a single base that i can pop it off quick and pop back on and it will retain its zero (ish).
so with this mount im hoping that i can achieve this.

2nd upgrade is a accu-strut.
i have no problems with my ruger as it is right now but i thought if this can cut down the shot pattern by 50% like it states then thats 50% better then i already have and im already happy with that so ill be 50% happier with the upgrade!

im planing on testing this accu-strut when i put it on as well.
gonna try some open site shots then with glass on then with the accu strut mounted.
so all in $200 in upgrades for my old girl.
looking forward to seeing if ill be $200 happier or $200 ticked off.

anyone run either of those upgrades?

I put an Accu-Strut on my pencil barrel Mini 14. Greatly improved accuracy and appearance. . Where did you get yours?

I have an Accu-strut on my 187 series, it makes a difference for sure.

I used to have a rail on it but went back to the Ruger rings. No trouble holding zero taking the scope off/back on. I do make sure I have the thumb screws tightened the same (slot in the same place) each time...if that makes a difference...
