Picked up a decent 1943 Izhevsk TT33 last week.

I remember paying arond the $400 mark for beat up Russian made TT's a few years ago while the Chinese ones were $199 at Marstar.

We are VERY lucky to have nice Russians at the sub-$200 price point right now. Get them while they last folks. At some point they will either dry up, or come in with ugly import stamps or added useless safeties.

ug looking at american tt-33's makes me cry when they have that safety.

Most of OUR Chinese guns were originally put together for the US market and therefore have that abortion of a safety.

The only thing I envy of theirs wrt combloc pistols is the Makarov, but Teapot is fixing that right now and we should have .380 and 9mm Mak pistols by February, albeit with a small 1/4" stub of barrel sticking out of the slide.

If the Lever handpick fee bothers you, Collector's Source and Tradex (the importer) also offer hand select, but for free, and hte pistols are only $199 so nearly the same price as Lever - but you'll get what you ask for ;)

Frontier will also handpick for you, but as I pointed out, I don't think they can tell what factory is what - they just go by the year on the gun.

if it is the girl you spoke to, then it is true she does not know the basic stuff and I think she spaces out too. On several occasions, I had to ask Hello, are you still there, because there was long silence after I finished telling her what I want to order. I guess she sleeps with the owner this is how she got the job :) (she is the wife of the owner) I guess everything gun and gun related bores her to death :)))))
