Picked up a little something yesterday

But yeah what is up with that little rubber bump on the butt of the Jungle Carbine?!
It's like they were designing it and asked themselves "alright chaps, how can we make this thing far more painful and unpleasant to shoot for the average soldier?!" lol

When I bought mine I had it explained this way, I'm not saying it's true but it sounded reasonable enough. The intention to produce the 'jungle carbine' was to equip paratroopers and the like with it, and the rubber pad on the bottom was there to save the airplane and vehicle floors. As the other enfields all had hard metal buttplates the rubber would be gentler on equipment.

I was also told don't shoot it prone if I valued my shoulder being in one piece.
