Picked up a M14S Have questions

I would like it to be reasonably accurate, but again I don't want to spend a ton of money on a $400.00 gun. I see Rooster33 has a couple of improvements for sale, worth installing?

I got the spring guide rod. It smoothed out the action a bit.

Why don't you take your stock rifle to the range first and put at least a couple hundred rounds through it before you start messing around with it? If you just start putting stuff into it without trying it, you'll have no idea if you made any improvement or not. The M14s are pretty good even right out of the box.

Don't be fooled, that gun is worth more the $400.00!!!!

The norinco reciever is a forged reciever and is really worth at least $500.00 to $600.00 by itself!!!!:D

The only other company making a forged M14/M1A reciever is LRB Arms out of Long Island, New York. They run $629.00 U.S. for a bare reciever.

Again, depends on what you want to do with the gun.

For a fun blaster, all you need to do is swap in a USGI op rod spring with a Rooster33 NM op rod spring guide. That will help a lot. Then simply check that your gas cylinder is not loose, and replace the "mystery" wood stock with a USGI fiberglass stock. These basic mods will make a world of difference.

SKBY.

I'm going to shoot my stock M305 this coming weekend. I checked Rooster33's website and I'mgoing to order the OP rod guide and Navy front sight.
Does anyone know where can I get USGI op rod spring?
Thanks

Paul
