Well yesterday i traded in the Hawkeye .30-06 for a Remington SPS in .30-06 First three shot group at 100 yards and it clustered. Gotta love it when it likes the first handload fed to it. 56 grains of H4350 and the Nosler Combined Technologies 168 grainer did the trick. Hope its decent on game. I can sleep better now knowing the Ruger is history!!:D:rockOn:

Impossible !!! 700's won't shoot unless you spend gobs of money buying aftermarket stuff for them..............

Congrats, Looks Great and Shoots even better

It's really too bad about that Ruger. It seems in the last year or so Remington's QC may have gone up a bit... so many of them seem to be shooting great out of the box.

That one seems to be doing just fine...

As for being decent on game, we all know the aught six is a winner. You gonna use that load for everything, or work up something heavier as well?

I'll go with that load. The 06 is no worries, its the bullet i am not sure about.

:redface:My bad. I just checked my notes and the 5x5 Whitetail i killed last year was with th same bullet but in a factory loaded shell.:D

30 bullets down the tube of a new rifle then trading it in isnt exactly getting out of hand :runaway: :D

well you got a better rifle now anyways :) ;)

Glad you got a shooter, and not a moment too soon. At least the bedliner won't change the stock colour. :D

I give you till Christmas, before you sell it. ;)

Quitter!

Your just to honest. You should have adjusted your groups for the internet. "5 shots under a dime all day long.............if I do my part"

Too bad the Ruger didn't work out for you. I have been lucky with my Rugers, and to be honest, I almost gave up on my 308 a few years ago. But the gun (or likely me) seemed to settle in and it shoots like a dream now.

I am not a big fan of Remingtons, but you have a nice combination with great accuracy which should do well for you. Say, didn't you have a similar rig a year or two ago - when you shot that nice Whitetail buck?;):p
