Just wanted to drop a note regarding my experience at Al Flaherty's. In this day and age, all you ever hear is complaining, #####ing and moaning. You very rarely hear the Positive experiences.
As you know Flaherty's got a few German produced P226 's in over the last month and made them available to us. I had originally called in just to find out what these were and "where" they came from as in, "Which Police / Govt Agency was not in need of their full order" etc etc ...
Turns out that these are NOT typical German produced "Carbon Steel stamped/ folded" slides. These particular guns (serial U 892 ###) have Stainless Steel solid slides. You can easily tell by the absence of that metal breech plate which is part of the folded/stamped type slides.
All German produced- completely made and assembled in Germany with no MIM parts - triple serial numbers, finished flawless, absolutely perfect. Trigger very smooth and breaks just right, Action is tighter than a mouse's ear... but still smooth as butter. Test target is 15 metres, 5 rounds a little under an inch, also included two Mecgar magazines. Beautiful!
Sam and Paul are extremely helpful and patient, the whole experience was great, they really share the "excitement", you know, the emotional part of buying a nice handgun!
