Well its been a long process but I finally have all the paperwork and credentials needed for a restricted firearm. I decided that my first gun would be something I could tinker on but still be fun out of the box. So I did the most childish thing I could and bought an Norinco CQA 10.5 haha. I pick it up in the AM and then its just waiting for the long term ATT to take her to the range.

I do have a few questions about what I should do while I wait for my long term ATT. From my research, it sounds like I should give the gun a thorough cleaning prior to taking it out and I assume I should familiarize myself with all the safety features. Is there anything else that I should be doing with it before putting some rounds through it?

Why wait for your LATT to shoot it?

Just phone and get a short term one. Other that the initial cleaning and inspection you are good to go.

Its my bad for not asking for the LTATT to start, I'll know better for when I go to pick up my pistol, still deciding on what model of 1911 im going to drop some coin on.

And if I get the whole day off work tomorrow, Im sure Ill call in for the short term. Probably will be way too excited to shoot straight, but who cares haha

You LTATT should already be on its way, provided the CFC has your club membership on file. I just bought a restricted and when getting my SATT for the post office I asked about updating my LATT and they said it was mailed two days a go.

I actually got it today, and I haven't even got the gun yet.
