*PICS ADDED* Is this RC Mauser desirable?

like loki says, pics are required. Some Combloc refurbs of German rifles left the swaztikas intact, some didn't, some even ground the receiver rings. Even in RC K98k's some maker codes are more desirable than others due to lower production.

From the Russian Capture point of view, they have all met the tragic fate and the hands of Ivan who used the belt sander on the stock, used the electropencil to renumber and force match them, peened the swastikas, and redipped all the metal a black color. They do sell for $400 in the USA. It's a shooter now as nothing matches anymore. Buy the one with the best bore.

Now it's time for the math lesson (Russian Capture 101 :D):

The 3 you mention at $650 each ($1950 for 3) would cost $1200 ($400 X 3) in the USA! $1950 - $1200 = $750 more in Canada!

Pics look good. Nice that the waffenampts haven't been peened off. You have a 1941 Mauser Oberndorf. Your parts should be milled not stamped. If the bore is good then it should be a good shooter. The stock was stamped after capture on the butt stock. If you have a sight hood, action capture screws and a cleaning rod, you're already ahead.

Edit - I looked at the photos you posted. I'm unsure when the rifles first started wearing a laminate stock. I have a bcd 41 and it's also a mix master RC. I paid $650 for mine, cash. Private sale 1 year ago just before the current surplus k98 's were being offered to us via retailers. Unfortunately, in Canada 650$ is the current price for a k98.

O/P turn the rifle with trigger guard up. There are 2 main action screws. These have "capture screws" that have a cut out to align the screws and prevent them from lostening. Look up k98 capture screws on Google using "images" after reading my description. Bottom line the k98 has 2big screws and 2small screws adjacent to the big ones on the trigger guard.

Your bands are milled which is correct. The triggerguard is milled which is correct. Check the floorplate, it should be smooth, no seams of punchmarks/spotwelds.
Mauser oberndorf, aka byf can be found wearing laminate stocks in the late 30s. 37/38 I believe.

Youres is flatbutt walnut, which could be correct for this rifle but I'd have to check it out. Its possible though.

It looks like a nice RC.
