The first pics (that I know of) of the SIG P229R .22LR guns are now up on the U.S. website TopGunSupply:

Converts to 9mm:

Converts to .40/.357:

There is also some discussion of them here:

A few things to consider:
- The slide is "226-style" ... it looks to be considerably longer than the full-calibre 229 slide. That barrel has got to be well over 106mm... so it should be able to just come straight across the border... no special run of barrels for the Canadian market.
- It also has the 226-style full cocking serrations, rather than the half serrations and flared out shape of the 229 slide. The 229 kits seem to be a slightly modified version of the 226 kits, rather than a whole different gun like the full calibre models are.
- The mags look a bit weird. I'm not sure why they can't make them look like 229/228 mags. It also seems clear to me that the mags will not be interchangable with the 226 kits (I was never expecting that anyway).

You can see the difference between the 220, 226 and 229 mags here:
http://www.topgunsupply.com/22-conversion-kits-sig-sauer/

The photos of the kits are all just stock photos of the 226 kit. The photos from the "guns" section of this site appear to be the actual kits themselves. The 229 .22LR slides are clearly mounted on 229 frames, and are not the same as the photos of the 226 or 220 .22LR slides.

I know Questar has these on order... I definitely want one! I know there have been some naysayers... and some problems getting them to work with all models of 226, etc., but there have also been some very positive reviews. I need to know for myself, as I have two of the 229's and they are my favorite gun.

Like you saig Ghostie, it looks considerably longer than the p229, so when you convert this model into a 9mm, you obtain a model somewhere between the p226 and the p229 I guess?..

No, the 9mm "conversion" top end will likely be of regular size.

In any event, these .22 guns would be nice if they functioned reliably (and from what I've read, they don't).
