I found these plastic coated ladder hangers at Home Depot for $0.98/each.

The Grizz is 22" with the pistol grip installed.
  1. Measure required width of support. Place gun on hanger and mark with a pen.
  2. Put ladder hanger in a vise and bend with your hands (this takes a bit of forearm strength). If you don't have any forearms, use a hammer! Use hack saw to cut off excess length of hanger.
  3. Install hangers (screw into studs) at 16" centers. This supports the forestock and just behind the trigger guard. Total cost, $1.96 + tax. And it doesn't look bad at all!

These hagers are so robust, you could do chin-ups off your shotty.

The gun is mounted 6 1/2' off the floor. High enough to keep little hands off of it, and low enough for an adult to grab in an emergency. Remember, DO NOT KEEP IT LOADED as we want to respect the laws and give the BG a fighting chance. :runaway:

P.S. Everyone I show my Grizzly to says, "Holy COW, that thing is COOL!!!"

looks like it in the front hallway of your house!

NICE!

pic is a bit dark, can't see if they are locked to the rack (doesn't look like it) or are they just trigger locked?

Neither the rifles nor the handguns are trigger locked. The whole room is a vault with reinforced construction and an alarm system. Anything larger than a spyder will trigger the alarm and send the police.

I can fondle my toys and leave them lying around, just lock the door and set the alarm when I leave. :D

OH ok!

with the window in the back ground, and the alarm panel it looked like the front hall of a house! I am all for easy access but that would be a bit much.:D

what is that on the right of the rack?
