Anyone own a true magnum mauser?

Can you post some pics?

I have a zkk602 but wants to see how a real magnum size (long action) mauser action looks like.

Thx

I used to own one...they are about the same as a 602 (way nicer)...I think the boltface was larger?
My buddy still owns a Brevex...Will see if I can get a picture.

What are you building?

It will be nice to see some pics before I make my final decision on this project.

Since I already have 602 in 375 H&H I am thinking of 416 rigby or more or less same case length in .450 caliber, any suggestion?

She now wears a 6x36 scope though, so she's a bit smaller these days.

The accessories make that shot. What caliber? Love the leather bag, knife and ammo carrier combo, that's gotta be a site picture or magazine pic?

I really like the picture too, that's why I nicked it!

I believe it is a .505 Gibbs and there are more similar pictures on the Granite Mountain Arms web site.

That's a lovely rifle Hansol, but it's not a true Mauser magnum action. They never made many of them to begin with, I've probably seen 20 in 30 years (and 10 of those were in one shop in MT). When you do find them, if the guy who is selling it knows what it is, bring lots of money. - dan

Dan, I caught my mistake afterwards. I didn't realize the OP was looking for a REAL long action (the ones that cycle the BIG/long rounds) vs a regular "magnum". My mistake

Should you have access to Bolt Action Rifles by Frank de Haas you can see a pic. of a Brevex Action. A "normal" 98 Mauser is 8.75", the Brevex is 9.25" in length. The receiver ring on a regular 98 is 1.40 & 1.50 on the Brevex. Complete action wght. Brevex 53 oz. vs. 46. - also made by other firms - I can post all the measurements etc. if anyone wishes. --- John303.

You guys have posted some very nice rifles thank you!

I know the real long action mauser is hard to come by and how much would expect to pay for an action alone?
