So here is the 91/30 Mosin from West rifle I got.

The rifle shoots! Great groups at 50 / 100 yards.

This is the stock I'm looking to do a shellac job on...




THIS is the cracked stock after I fired my first shot. It looks like the scope mount was touching the wood, snugly, and the wood gave.
I have since crazy glued the piece of wood back with some gorilla crazy glue. I think I'm going to try to file a little bit of the wood of so there is room between the scope mount and the stock, so it doesn't happen again.

Gotta be honest. I'm not happy with that crack - but it shoots so nice, I am just going to keep it. I'll try to post up some pictures of my groupings next time I'm out!

The bore is nice. Strong rifling. The scope seems to be great quality - the optics are clear and sharp.

Like I said, besides that crack - I love this rifle. It's quickly become my favourite shooter.

 
Hi there. My particular rifle is accurate enough! I got a fist sized group (with a flyer) at 100 yards the very first time I fired her after sighting. This was using prvi commercial ammo.

I think there is room for some improvement on my behalf too. Like I said, it was my first time shooting a 91/30. I will try and grab some pics next range day and do a more accurate review!
 
I think this is a lesson to all new buyers to check the mount clearance on these repros.

Can you post close-up pics of the mount and the markings on the scope pls?

*ps I wish the clearance was checked for me, prior to arriving ;)

That being said - I love the rifle
 
Ghost, your rifle sure is a heck of a shooter. Definitely one of the more accurate refurb 91/30s I have seen!
 
Thanks artman! Haven't been able to get back to the range since the day you guys helped me sight her in! I also picked an unfired polish M44 that I'm gonna take with me to the range next time!
