Images are worth allot. Thanks to Philipp Koschel our photographer the match was well documented. For the few that will be expecting to receive the pics by mail, the rest in the can indulged in this small narrative the Phil and I chose for the CGN viewing. Tim approved pics of course.

High prone, no mag. I was checking scoring indicators. Notice I was one of the few guys who used a sling to shoot. It worked!!!

Also, that's me bringing up the rear of the 200M run-down. Typical.....!

Thanks, TON! Nice pics Philipp.....I like your angles and use of short focal plane.

Good pics. They show what a broad selection of rifles, equipment and kit that was used by the participants.

I'd like to know where that guy got those Crye Precision Combat Pants in MultiCam,, and if any are avail in Medium Regular. They look like they can do the job.

ok, very cool.
minor question...
In the pic that follows, what sort of pants are those (the tan ones) with the built in knee pads? are those issue? in Canada?
(speaking as ex-infantry with bad knees)

That guy in "The Pants" is ex-Italian military, from the discussion on the weekend, and builds his own AR10 based rifles, and sells Crye pants etc, in Qc. His business is called SOCOMSUPPLY.ca

EDIT: His website is mostly under construction but there is contact info. A handout he gave me at the match lists Socom, Noveske, Horus, Tango Down, IWI, Extrema, Polarion, Guncrafter 1911's and Crye Precision on his distribution list.

That was a pretty nice outfit he was wearing not to mention the SIG he was shooting. You'll be seeing him at the matches often next year.

Nice pics, looking forward to my e-mail with more..... to bad for those that weren't there, cus the pics cannot be posted here... oh well, there is always next year.

Guys, you need to get out to try at least one of these matches, IIRC there are 4 per year managed by OSA.

I built a gun specifically for these matches, the gun did great but boy do I suck. Amazing what some windage and a crazy wind will do to 500m shots, I gained lots of confidence @ 300m but once at 500m not a single hit on a 4x4 target until I realised that I needed to shoot 2 feet right in order to be on target. Great learning experience and fun. Thanks Tim for another great shoot.

Oh ya Keebler750 shot >500 points in this match, koodos to you. IIRC this was only his third match.

furet:

I share your pain. I brought out ammo that I had developed all last fall and this spring. So along comes some single digit Celsius temperatures and my ammo is 5 MOA South of it's usual 500m setting. Like you, furet, my deliberate match bullets were yo-yo'ing up and down the frame.

Oh well.... as long as we look good, that's all that matters. :D

Got Varget?:p

Hungry here: All of you know that I'm an organizational freak and I prefer to use ONE powder for the .308 and all of my .223 games, so WC735 Surplus Ball powder from Andrew Higginson over at Higginson Powders dot com does it for me. I just tested a warmish to hot load yesterday (with CGNutter 'Plink') and we might be good to go for next season. I like to buy my powders in the 7 lb bags for $ 115 from Higginson. Life is good, now.
