Pics of todays shoot

Christmas eve shoot

Sitting around the house this morning and drinking a pot of coffee, waiting for christmas to come and go, and wishing it was warmer out. I think I read the forum a bit too much because I could'nt take it anymore and decided to go shooting. I mean it was only -12c with a light wind, so I went and loaded up a few yet untested loads, grabbed the rifle and rangefinder, some milkjugs full of water mixed with old clamato juice, and headed for the sandpit.

anyhow shot some milkjugs at 350yds, almost got the truck stuck, and froze my right hand.. good times!!

by the way, really nice pictures guys... keep up the good work.
and Merry Christmas!

No Fair. You guys that can get out to the pit in mid winter make me feel bad that I sold my Jeep.
Thought I'd add a few pics of last summers long range adventure. I found this beauty stretch of power line. All the way out to 3.2km If I ever felt inclined. Just have to make sure as to NOT hit the power lines. I think that would be a hard one to explain.

My Target as seen through my rangefinder at 550 yards. Look for the two black dots just left of the circle on the white background.

And as seen through my Leupold at 12x

And the best 3 shot group at 550 yards for the day from the 6BR. Someone once told me that even the sun shines on a dogs ass from time to time. For this I say BOW WOW and pass the sunscreen! As for the other groups.......we won't go there.

Hey Barks.

What kind of range finder is that. Is it accurate enough up to 1300 Yards??

I'm looking for one, so i can verify my "manual" mils through reticle ranging and compare.

3.5 km Humm, 50 cal. Anyone??

Man, thats what i'm talking about, great picture.

I love seeing precision rifles in the field. So much cooler than pics of a rifle in some guys living room.

Thanks thesilverfox :):), also seasons greetings to you all from over the pond!!!!
Some nice photos as well guys.................:)

Here we are set up at for 1000yds ...................

I am using the Bushnell Elite 1500. I have ranged bright reflective hunter orange vests out to 1680 yards. I have to admit though on really bright sunny days its performance is hindered a bit unless its highly reflectiv. It will read quite reliably to about 1200 on sunny days and far beyond on overcast days. Beyond that it has to be a good background to bounce the laser back. This is its only flaw in my opinion, however I have read posts regarding other top of the line rangfinders that do the same on sunny days. It has never bounced back an incorrect reading. If the distance is too far it just won't read.
If you have the money, the Leica is the standard that all others seem to be measured...... pardon the pun. But at half the price, I don't feel the bushnell is half the rangefinder.

You guys have some nice places to shoot.

Ok, some pics of me at work. Not a long range rifle stuff pics, but very scenic. I own a fencing business and we get to work in some beautiful places.

Well, since were into pics of hardware in the field, I thought I'd toss up a couple pics. Most of these are repeats from the Summerland shoot in the spring but the terrain was amazing and we got to shoot at some insane distances, (2500 +)

Here's the Long Range Canuck's 50BMG:cool:, and Glock-O-Maniac's 338 Lapua Magnum Ackley Improved

LRC was nice enough to let me test pilot his 50! As you can see from the ridge in the distance, we were huckin rounds at ranges I had never shot out to before. Its feels incredible to smack targets a mile out:D

Glock-O-Maniac's pride and joy! 338 Lapua Magnum Ackley Improved, and it IS freaky accurate:sniper:

Here's the gong we had just under 900 yards out. The tree line in the distance is where we were shooting from.

The small black divots are from .308 & .223 rounds. The big impacts are from Glock-O-Maniac's 338 Lapua Magnum Ackley Improved.

Here's a pic of Jerry Teo's 6.5 Mystic, its crazy accurate (well so is the man behind it)! Can't say enough about this gun.

OOOO, I can't wait for this years shoot:D

Keep the cool pics going.

Hope you all have a great Christmas!

Now to head out thru the next snowfall we're gettin in NB today and warm up my LR Remington 308. Keep shooting Amigos.
