picture added 7mm Federal Trophy Bonded Tip - anyone load these?

I picked up a few boxes cause I couldn't resist. I am happy with Nosler AB's for hunting and accuracy but I am biting on this new hook. I witnessed impressive results last fall on a white tail and I've got to try these out...but to the point...

I loaded a ladder test as part of some other testing on a powder and I seated them -.020 as with other lead core bullet offerings. From what I've read and from the advertising photos this bullet appears (at least to me) that there may be more copper to the jacket than an Accubond and it got me thinking.

From what I've read the mono's like more of a jump like over .040, and not that this is GMX or TTSX but I'd like to hear from others how they treat this bullet in terms of seating.

Aside, if there's any field results to share I'd be interested in that as well.

I think they are basically Speer Deepcurl bullets, you can find data for these on Speers website.
Some info on these, they do require slightly lower charges, Partition data would be safe to use.

I was going to pick some up a few weeks ago and made the trip to the moncton cabelas on the morning they closed. Only to find a closed store with people standing outside baffled to what happened. Went to bass pro but they didnt have any. Ended up picking up the TTSX from bass pro, which i am playing with loads now. So let us know how they work. I am all about playing with new fandangled gimmicky bullets. Keeps it interesting.

I've been having good luck with them in the 7mm08. Using varget and h4350. Excellent accuracy and they're jumping quite a bit to fit in a ruger American mag. Accuracy and velocity was consistent with my 140gr sierra load.

Argh... now I have to make a decision on seating them deeper. Tod can you explain a bit more on why .050? Is that due to the construction as advertised or because of the nickel plating? Just experience? I guess if a fellow loaded bear claws before a person would have some experience...to myself at least these appear to be very similar but I may be missing something.

Thanks for sharing that. (Aside I didn't know about the magazine being a limiting factor in that model of Ruger..) So jump in your situation is to fit the mag.

Noted regarding accuracy and velocity being similar. I know I just need to test for myself but...and this may be a stretch to ask but was POI quite a bit different? Use them for hunting yet? I've got Varget on hand for an existing hunting load.

Below is a picture of 140 grains, Sierra HPBT GT, BT GK, Ballistic Silvertip and the Trophy Bonded. Have some ladders loaded to test a powder and check on some other things I'm interested in.

They are in my supply and on my list to do next I’ve got 284 and 308 incarnations to try out I’ve been waiting to use these as a component for a long while my son who is now 16 has used these in his 308 5 elk 1 moose and a smattering of deer have proven that they are an excellent game bullet in factory loads no reason they will be awesome in handloads also and they are no to speedy either candidate wait to get to try them out on paper soon well that is if spring really ever does come
