Saw this on the documetary "We stand alone together". I was surprised to see a German soldier carrying a #4T

I haven't seen too much about Germans using captured Enfields.
 
Yes, your identification skills are correct. That clip could be anywhere from Italy to France to Belgium or Holland, not specifically Normandy in June 1944.
 
Ran out of ammo or defective rifle and picked up the Enfield on the battlefield.

Unlikely for the running out of ammo or defective rifle! On a battlefield, there is usually rifles and ammo available on your own side of the line. More probable is that the Soldier with the Lee Enfield was a well trained rifleman or a hunter before his Army service, and wanted a more precise rifle with better sights, that he thought would be more effective.

The footage they use in documentarys and movies can be a bit varied. I recently saw a movie that was supposed to be ww2 and some of the stock footage was ww1.
