Picture of a real big foot taken on our latest trip.

Why not?

Recently, Marg and I took our 22 foot freighter canoe on a river trip to Eagle, Alaska, and back. Had a great time, saw some amazing geological formations, along with peregrine falcons, eagles, moose, bears, and enjoyed 24 hours of daylight doing it.

One of the most notable things we saw were the tracks of a really big wolf. How's this for a truly big foot?

That is one of Marg's 308 Norma Mag rounds for scale.

Never saw the brute, but would be impressive, no doubt.

I have a 170 lbs Geat Pyrenees he is 34" at the shoulders and almost 7' from the tip of his tail to the tip of his nose... The rato of his paw to a .308 Winchester is almost the same as that one... That wolf has to be about 250 lbs easy.

Wolves have big feet for their size. ;)

One of those pads is about equal to the whole paw on my Sheetsu. He is a killer Sheetsu mind you with his own Rottyweiller to protect and back him up. All kidding aside it's an interesting picture. Confirms there is some very big Wolves about, or at least a wolf with very big paws.

wow Ted that is a huge track.

i thought there was a good one at the beginning of the Canol road but i will consider it as a baby now ....

nice to see a 308 norma still in our neck of wood ...

I like the picture Ted - I saw a similar track this past fall too - there are some brutes out there! I am not cool enough to have a .308 Norma, this is a 7mm RM:

I'm looking forward to some more pictures too!
