hi guys. im tossing up between an ATI fixed buttstock with pistol grip..

or a Knoxx spec ops NRS stock ..

can anyone post up a pic of the knoxx on an 870 .. im a fiend for aesthetics so i dont wanna spend the money without seeing it first on a shotgun

Here's a pic of my NRS.
I think it's way better made then the ATI, and that's the word on the street too.

How is the cheek weld with the Knoxx stock? I'm assuming the Drop At Comb is low enough to allow bead sights to be used with proper Point of Impact; is that correct?

Does the movement of the stock along the tube during recoil cause any pinching of the cheek?

How does the DAC of the ATI stock compare to that of the Knoxx stock?

The NRS does not have the recoil springs in it so yhe stock does not move under recoil.

The stock gives a perfect cheekweld for using the bead and as it angles down the further it's extended I would assume it is the same for all sizes of shooter.

It seems to me the DAC (drop at comb) is more pronounced for the knoxx then the ATI. These are not clay pigeon guns. But I think it would allow pretty intuitive shooting for most guns.

Here is my 870 with 18inch barrel. It is the Knoxx with recoil reduction. No pinching unless you went out of your way to put your finger in the space. Cheek well is fine for me with the Wilson Combat sights. As you can see, the side saddle is installed.
I've been meaning to send a PM to Badboybeeson about whether one of his sling mounts will fit on this.

How is recoil on your right hand when holding the pistol grip?
I have a fixed retractable stock for my 1300 and it has no recoil buffer spring. When I shoot it especially with magnums it really starts to tear up my hand.
I could imagine with the shorter barrel it probably did a number on you as well before the knoxx stock.

I rarely shoot magnums, mostly restricting myself mostly to 9pellet 00Buck, it doesn't bother the web of my hand any that I've noticed.

As for a single mount plate, it was a question I had too and Badboybeeson and a few others advised me it would work fine and it did, there is plenty of length in the Knoxx bolt. It leaves a bit of a gap between the grip and trigger but It doesn't bother me 'none.

It will but there will be a fairly large gap from the mount. Hope you have really long fingers. It feels wrong to me.

On the second pic of the 870 with the side saddle have you modifed the front grip?

If so could you please show the mod, I wanted to put a 6 round side saddle on my 870 but it would not fit, I'd have to change out grip, what I ended up doing was cutting down the saddle to four rounds.

Just measure it out and cut a notch in the forend. It's all I did, I plan to get a police forend just to make it look better though. I have seen guys cut and sand down the regular one and it looked pretty good. All depends on how much work\money you want to put in.

Knox>NRS>ATI

I highly suggest the Knox. I took my shotgun out the day I got my ATI stock and the thing nearly came off after around 700 shells. I screwed the bolt in as tight as possible as well as using Lock tight.
