i took my pps50 from sfrc out to the range today for the first time...i bought 4 different types of ammo...all hyper velocity which this gun feeds on...winchester super speed hp...cci velocitor...rem viper and rem yellow jackets...only issue was rem yellow jackets...not a one would feed properly...3 outta 4 aint bad...as for the gun...not a hiccup ...other than the yellow jackets...very accurate and fun to shoot...and no issues with the black dog 30 round magazine...i ran out of energy standing so long than i did of ammo....that type of ammo is a little more expensive than the regular 22lr...but its stlll cheap cheap compared to my 9mm...anyone wishing to buy the pietta...id say go nutz...its alotta fun...

I like mine. It works great with the Federal high velocity. The metal drum mag works great, as long as you release thr trigger fully

My magazine packaging came with a picture of a conical bullet and a warning that this type of bullet shape will ftf, on another note can any one tell me how to use that piece of bent wire loading aid for the drum mag, there was no paperwork for that thing, I was also surprised that the sights were fixed and could nt be adjusted, otherwise a solid little rifle.

aggggggggggghhhhhhhhhh i missed that memo...didnt know about the conical bullet warning...makes sense now why it was jamming...thanks for the tip...

Am I the only person who has a pps-50 that fires cheap ammo (including ammo that the drum mag says not to use)?

Depends on what you mean by cheap. Mine won't shoot wild cats but bulk federal champions work fine.

I'd also say the drum works better then the stick.

Hey thanks for the help with that loading aid for the drum, I tried it tonight and it was pretty boss, sort of a mistake not to include directions with the drum, not really obvious, at least to me.

Be careful of the loose barrel issue. I used to have one and sometimes the lug that holds the barrel in place would loosen after rapid fire casing jams and light strikes. Make sure you tighten well after cleaning.

Also had an issue with mine when new. Would not go into battery every so often becuz extractor was holding bolt off breech. I had to file down the relief on barrel where extractor seated.

I had mine for about a year before it was figured out. Was sitting in a friends house with the thing drinking a few beers mentioned it to him and passed him the drum 15 min later he had it figured. Honestly I still don't use the loader much.

Was running the winchester 555 bulk box through it, apart from duds, I had no problems.

These look pretty cool.

If it were 9mm and could still use the 50 round drum I would be all over this.

I just have no use/need for a .22lr rifle.

If I had a girlfriend or a small child, maybe I would buy one of these, but not for me.

I would rather put that money towards a Lee Enfield or something.

f:P: 22lr for girls and small children ... The training rifles for the lee enfield were in 22lr

Anyways I've considered one of these things for a long time and this might push me over the edge
