Wasn't meant to be newsworthy, but rather an opportunity for those who seek some wild pork from time to time.
Been talking to the club and they have been inundated with calls from here to Cape Breton Island from guys who wanna get in on a hog cull,lol.

Sounds a lot like the 'tard that was all upset over having to know how far his proposed Chickens, were, from water sources in the area. He was pretty sure it was all about "They just want to keep us down!".
What the folks that want to be able to raise their own meat and the like, really need to do, is to start beech-slapping those among their number that make things harder for the rest, than they really should be if common sense prevailed! LOL! Yeah. "Common"!
Yeah nobody would pay attention if a farmer lost his crops but a golf course? Those pigs are dead meat.
I own pigs so I am bias. Smart animals and I mean too dam smart sometimes. I have a bore and stuck my hand in between the bars into his space. He charged from several feet away and then stopped dead in his tracks and looked up at me looking me dead in the eyes. He got what was happening. A few days later he had his snout low between the bars with a rag over it, he was looking up waiting for me to grab rag. He was baiting me like i did to him. I was just testing his reactions or progress from how he was when i got him. He is a rescue.
Pig doing great now but he is one dangerous boy. Took a lot of effort but he is good with me. I like him. I tell others stay away from him. He likes woman but not men. He had been abused.

what are doing with him at the end eating or keeping as a pet?
if your first option is the one you think about make sure he is the first to be slaughtered as a clever one wont let it go very easy ...

I own them as pets, they have names. They will live their natural lives. Come that time, they wont be buried as no point. Just a waste.
Meat wont be the best at that age so stew meat. Not sure i could eat it but no issue to donate it.
I watched a show where this lady had a pet cow. Come that time she put it down and donated it. I had a lot of respect for her seeing that.
I brought one with a friend to the slaughter house once. Was a memory I wont forget. Thats why i now rescue. It knew exactly what was going on. Sounds were brutal
Memory is 30 years old and i can hear it like it was yesterday.
