Has anyone done it? I see a pillar bedding kit for sale at Brownells but it says it’s not for the VT. Some googling turns up very little info, I suspect the pillars will work in my VT but the rear one will need to be cut shorter.

Any advice or other suggestions is appreciated.

save the money have it done right dude, Costs twice as much for someone to fix it after someone gives it a go and messes it up. if I had a dollar for every time I heard.." I saw it on you tube..looked easy enough " and then they want it fixed and done right. Just my thoughts on it. Its a very critical part of a rifle and when not done incorrectly it would have been better to leave it the way it was.

Rugers run a diagonal front action screw. This is why the kit likely is not recommended for Ruger M77.
Just bed the action and be done. Forget about pillars.

No, theres kits made for specifically for them, however never having owned a VT i cant say why it wouldn't fit.

It’s a kit specifically for the M77, but not recommended for the 77VT. I suspect because the stock dimensions are different on the VT.
