Pinfire looking for family reuinion

I've got an old Lefacheaux pinfire that's a bit of an heirloom. Apparently it was bought at the estate sale for Emperor Maximilian of Mexico when he was "retired" by the Mexican people in 1867, but I have no way to validate this.

Thing is, it was originally one of a pair with matching holsters, but the other parts of the set never made it to any member of my immediate family, so I'm not sure what happened to them.

It's a longshot, but if anyone's seen one around that looks like this, I'd be interested in finding out about it. Alternatively, if anyone can suggest a way I might find out more info on the gun (and perhaps confirm the story behind it) that would be equally cool.

I guess the only way to try to find out would be to get the factory's records, and find out who this revolver was initially sold to, and IF any other firearms were sold to the same individual.

I have a couple Remington 1875 Army revolvers that were made for the Mexicans by Remington.
The mexican contract guns the Remington socity called it.
Very rare as they were 45 caliber not 44.

they got some nice guns them mexicans.
that pin fire is a beauty.

The one Remington 1875 i have musta been owned by a very nasty Mexican as the barrel was shortened to 4 inchs. coulda been a prison gards gun for close quaters fighting.

I have quite a few of mexican and Apache Revolvers. Never seen a Pin fire that looked exactly like that one in your Picture tho.

Theres a Book with alot of Mexican guns i think its called the

I will go look in my Pics i think i saved a copy of its cover!

In that book is a Remington 1875 exactly like the one i have with the short barrel.
There might be pics of your pin fire in that book to.
I was gona buy a copy but got side tracked.
