Looking at a lot of the uppers and rifles on IRG they have a pinned brake or flash hider. How big of a deal is this? I don't think I'll be needing to replace the muzzle device, but how much of an issue is it if that changes?
It's not an issue, if you ever need to remove it you just have to have the pin drilled out, sometimes you can do it your self, other times you'll need to get a smith to do it.
It's probably because the barrels are under 16" in length and to be US compliant without getting a tax stamp, they pin the brake so that the length of the brake is considered into the OAL of the barrel.
Not a huge deal if you decide to change the brake. You'll have to carefully cut the brake along the pin to remove it.
