So my friend still has some 25 round mags because he's cheap and stubborn. I told him id ask here what is the proper way to pin his bc steel lips and hc3r mags so he can be legal. Will a pop rivet suffice?

if they are the clear or smoked ones where you can see the follower then put 10 rounds in, look to see where the bottom of the follower is, drill a small hole right below it (depending on what size rivets your gonna use) then just put a pop rivet in the hole, give the handle a pull and your done.

The official word on the subject:

Put them away, do not use them, do not pin them, do nothing until the outcome is decided in court.

The Law has not changed. Period.

anyone that is doing anything OTHER than listed above is being silly.
until the law is actually changed everything is up in the air.

Hopefully RCMP gets some better advice there and stops implementing nonsense restrictions to law abiding gun owners.

Criminals do not care about laws a regulations.

BC magazines were on sale for years, now someone decides they are not safe anymore.

They hurt only us, the law abiding owners.

law did not changed yet, but many seller stopped selling magz not pinned or above 10?

fear is a strong motivator.

And businesses have a lot more at stake than the average gun owner... The owner/operator of the business risks the jail time, just like we do, and they're a highly visible target, so LEO is more likely to press charges in order to "Send a message."

And even if the business wins the court case, odds are by that time, it's a moot point. By the time it drags through the courts, the business will be shuttered, the owner financially ruined.

On the off chance that they manage to survive that, there's a good chance they'll get "the treatment." Fire inspections on a more regular basis, with a crazy attention to details and old regulations that people mostly ignore. A tip off to CBSA to make sure every product shipment gets thrown into the holding terminal to "await inspection" - but very low on the priority list. Business license evaluations/delays in renewal, building inspectors doing compliance checks to make sure that every light switch is X inches above the floor for maximum safety and ease of access for the wheelchair bound. etc. etc.

Businesses are WAY more vulnerable to pressure than individuals are.
