Pinning mags from the bottom of the follower

I found that two floor staples that come glued together allow me just to load 10rds when they are inserted in the bottom of the follower. If I understand correctly, blocked via metal or rivet and I think epoxy (dab of crazy glue). Would I encounter any trouble at the border coming back from the US from Canada Customs?
Would this suffice pinned or blocked?

I plan on glueing the staple inside the follower.

During the outdoor shooting season, I drive to Montana at least once a month for matches and never have I had my magazines inspected. On my last trip (last weekend) the Canadian border guy didn't even want to see the gun!

Similarly, when returning from matches in the USA via air, I've never had my magazines inspected.

I guess I must look like a trustworthy individual
