The 17 round Glock mag is pinned with rivet in the #14 hole. I find the mag is very, very tight with the last round.

I just pinned some mags and found that by filing the rear base of the follower a bit shorter, the mag would hold 10.5 rounds. It is now easy to insert round 10, and there is still some compression room to insert the mag in a closed action.

The rear of the follower, BEFORE.

The "legality" of the mag capacity is determined at the time of whomever is attempting to load the rds. And the go/no go is when an 11th rd can fully seat in the mag. If your mag loosens up with time and you end up in a situation where the law can prove an 11th rd can seat in there...yer fawked. As ludicrous as this is ...it is what it is. Some mags are happier than others when pinned...both in ease of pinning/functionality and where the pinning works vs how many rds can be seated. Better to set up yer mags seating 9 vs 10 if it's on the verge of taking another rd.

Mag restrictions in restricted firearms that can only be deployed in a range environment is of course pointless. But lets not go down that rabbit hole. Mag restrictions are pointless anyway...anyone stooping to malicious activity with a firearm won't likely be adhering to the myriad of laws on the matter.......

The Feds tried to introduce straight up brutally simple and harsh penalties for criminal use of firearms...and it was DEFEATED as unfair to same said criminals...by the very SAME people responsible for gun controls in the 1st place......WEIRD eh?
