Pistol accuracy with reloads

I load 4.4gr of Titegroup with AIM 124gr plated bullets at an OAL of 1.1.09" - I get pretty good accuracy. I came up with this recipe for my NP-29 which has a heavy slide and since I started shooting IPSC recently, I hope it will give more transparency to my shooting and I am sure it has more to do with my shooting prowess (or lack thereof) than the rounds I use.

May I ask what that recipe gives you for power factor?

Good question. I have not fired any rounds via a chronograph to calculate the FPS, but I'm estimating around 1050-1100 FPS. Lower and upper PF would be 130 and 136 respectively.
Thanks. If you're in the GTA I have a chrono so you can get sorted out that way. In either case I"ll keep thet data on file and if you have any questions don't hesitate since I'm the Aim R&D guy.

All food for thought fellas.

I will try some different powder (told N320 is good) and also some 147 gr. projectiles.
I am also going to go a bit longer and see if gun still runs well.
I have a match tomorrow so have to run with what I have now and just blame bad scores on ammo Lol.

If you want to play with OAL, treat it like a rifle round.. seat the bullet 20 thou off the lands and see what it does to your group.. I wouldn't go tighter than 10 thou though.. pistol bullets ogive does vary quite a bit even within same batch, ...you will also want to use a comparator guage so you don't seat into the lands and have pressure spike issues.

Sounds good. I will take you up on that offer! I don't have extensive experience with AIM projectiles or reloading for that matter, but I'm a left of centre brain kinda dude which likes to tinker with these sorts of things.

For the most part, I've been relatively please with AIM projectiles.

Just pm me and we can work out a date/time to meet.
