Are pistol calibre rifles accepted when shooting a 2 or 3 gun match?? I am specifically talking about a JR Carbine in 40 cal. I have not bought it yet but for less than $1000, they seem like a decent gun. It would strictly be for multiple gun matches, so if this is not accepted then I would be going for something in 223.

Most matches are meant to be shot with rifles that shoot rifle cal. rounds.
Some MD's may include a PCC division... Some MD's might say... Oh well, shoot what you want..'Not my problem if you can't make the hits or reach the targets.

That said.. I wouldn't waste the $ on a PCC.

'Having owned 'em (Cx4 and a 9mmAR) IMHO opinion they are just a really big pistol... Nowhere near able to do what a full power rifle round can.

Having run several multigun matches I can attest that the guys shooting PCC's although having fun, experience a certain level of frustration with the inadiquacy of their chosen long arm.

Bottom line... PCC's fire pistol ammo. Do not expect rifle performance. Especially against CoF's designed to be engaged with rifles.

It depends on where you shoot. The matches we run and the ones I have been to at other clubs I would say without a doubt you can. Most of the stages are setup for under 50 yards which a PCC can easily handle. We run longer stages at 200 and 300 yards. Most AR shooters do not practice at that distance which is why we allow a rifle to be used on them.

But JBD has it right contact the MD.

I don't think we would disallow them, presently we don't have them accounted for in the rule set (either by PF or by division). Its not uncommon though to see some small targets at 100y though, so I would take not of what 667 said.

I'm not sure the interest is there yet, but maybe down the road we consider a separate division. Have to run this by a few of the guys at our club to see where they're at.
