Pistol Magazines RPAL

Another question ? Are pistol magazines restricted ? Meaning do you need your RPAL to purchase ?
All this is new to me and want to be informed !

Plenty of non-restricted carbines are using Glock mags. Bought plenty of pistols mags and nobody flipped my PAL to see if I had a RPAL.

You don't need a PAL to buy magazines, it's for guns (specifically the frame/receiver) and ammo.

Why would you be providing your PAL when buying pistol magazines to begin with?
