Pistol mags in an SKS

I've seen a couple people mention they use some sort of mag adapter in their SKS which allows them to use pistol mags and therefore load 10 rounds legally... Which just highlights how absolutely stupid our laws are but I digress. Does anyone have any info on this mod? Is it easy to do and are the adapters/mags relatively available? What's it cost? Does the bolt hold open still function?

It's a conversion offered by Hical, you have to make considerable modifications to the bolt and rifle in order for the bolt to clear the feed lips on the magazine. However this doesn't affect the rifle if you want to return it to stock configuration.
 
Hmm... Looks pretty cool. But I'm not willing to pay $200 for the adapter just to weasel around our absurd mag limits. I think I'll just hold out and cross my fingers that someday a bit of sanity returns to our gun laws.

It makes my head hurt honestly. Any numbskull with a pair of pliers can make an sks go to 10 rounds. Or use a drill to make a Tapco mag go to 20. So why are we forced to pin it to 5? WHYYYYYY!?!?!?! IT DOESNT MAKE SENSE!?!?!?! THERE IS NO LOGIC TO THIS?!?!?!?!

Option 1 is a perfectly legal (if somewhat expensive) way to increase your mag limit to 10

Option 2 will get you a nice long vacation and a new best friend called "Bubba" who enjoys alone time with you

Hey - I never said it made sense (the government are involved remember)
 
I'm we'll aware of the law. I'm not going to unpin my sks, just pointing out how stupid it is that both A, there are expensive legal workarounds and B, it doesn't make Canada any safer having them pinned to 5 since a criminal who doesn't care about laws can so easily work around the mag limit for the cost of a pair of pliers.
