I kind of assumed there would be a thread on this already, so my apologies if this has been cover, but my search turned up nothing.......

Personally I love 1911's, but I find that they feel like toys in my hands. I'd like to find a pistol with a "beefier" grip. Semi auto, 9mm/40s&w/45acp, the more tactical the better ;)

Any suggestions?

i have a problem with my hands cramping up on guns with too small of a grip. all the new guns usually come with a changeabul grip. i had a S&W mp9 and its large grip was perfict. you might try one of the guns with that system on them. i think glock gen 4,s&w mp ,fnp, beretta 90 two.?
i also shoot a .44 desert eagle and i love the grip on it. you can get it in .357 if your looking for a smaller cal.

Like the 1911's as well but with a large hand the Springfield XD - 45 fits nicely.

Never shot or held one but coments on the CZ 97B in .45ACP being double stack and a handfull.

The FNP 45 tactical is really nice… i'd buy one if i had larger mits. it's worth a look, comes with a really nice case and 3 mags i believe. And its about as tactical as they come.

I have pretty large hands but I found the medium grip on the S&W M&P9 to be very comfortable. The range kit of this model includes 3 interchangeable backstraps/palm swells. The large size would be adequate for huge mitts;-)

You can put larger aftermarket grips on just about any pistol. Much easier to make them larger than smaller. Hogue makes some great grips.

CZ97b has the largest grip I've ever shot and it fit well (I have big hands). HK USP is also good sized but is blocky, a little smaller but with great ergonomics is the Sig 226... I like 1911 but I find the grip to be skinny, same as the CZ75. You can always get fat grips.

I've seen a HK Mark 23 at the store and it's huge, rivals a Desert Eagle...

Held the Beretta 92fs and that has a nice large grip for us with large hands.

My favourite is the Sig 226 as it just fits me well. You can swap out the grips for bigger/smaller, but it has superior ergonomics in my opinion.

Worst grip I've ever encountered was a Ruger 22 target pistol, tiny and short grip, felt like I was shooting a chemical sprayer... Everything is a personal fit, what fits one person may not fit another.

STI - Apeiro and the likes. Double stack, nice trigger and lots of options.
