Pistol Tighten fit to slide?

So what does a gunsmith do to tighten a pistols slide to reciever fit?

Use a press or hammer to a tighter tolerance? Leave the slide on the frame as you do this or what?

My 75B is a little loose and want to tighten it up.

Your sights are attached to the slide. The barrel locks up in the slide, bearing only on the slide stop pin within the frame. Unless you are using a frame mounted scope mount, tightening will likely just cause problems.

One way to reduce the tolerences if you are conscerned, is to nickle plate the lower.
