I was offered a Python. 4" (Prohib) Stainless. Good condition, but used.

Seller wanted $1,500, which I think is too much. I think $900 is about right.

he has other guns to sell, so I am considering a package offer, and maybe I can save enough on the others to justify the $1,500 on the Python.

What is the fair price for:

Ruger Single Six. About 6", blue, with extra cylinder, almost unused, in box.

S&W M66. 4" (prohib) Good shape, no box.

Astra 300 380ACP. Mint.

I value your opinions.

550-600 for the Ruger. They can be found new starting at 700. Not that rare and certainly don't fly off story shelves.

I wouldn't pay more that 350-400 for the 66. That may sound a touch below market but from what I've seen, they are not that rare or desirable. The 2.5" and particularly the 3", are a different story and are more valuable and sought after by collectors.

Not sure about the Astra

Thank you. I bought a M66 for $350 on EE last year. It is worth more, but prohib values are falling as those of us with a 12.6 already have 2 of everything.

$550 for a mint Ruger would be a good price.

I am guesstimating the Astra to be $150. I have asked seller to look for a holster for it. I am guessing it might be an ex-Luftwaffe pistol.

I hadn't thought of that but you're right. After building up my 12.6 collection over the past few years there's not much left that I'm interested in.

The stainless steel single six's sell for $829.99 or $929.29 tax in, at Wholesale Sports in Langley.

The new Bearcat, blued, sells for $799.99 or $895.99 tax in.

Cabalas price is $899.99 or 1,007.99 tax in. The single 10 sells for $699.99 on sale.

Thanks for that info. I had no idea they had gotten so expensive. The Single Six is like new, in the box, so well worth the $500 I paid.

I bought all 4 for $2,000. I guess $1,000 for the Python and $1,000 for the M66 357, the Single Six and the Asta. Not a great deal, but a fair price and I get a Python, at last.

That sounds like a fair deal

Yes, thanks to you guys. Seller wanted $1,500 for the Python. That sounded like too much for a used stainless prohib, but I needed the confirmation here to back me up. I was comfortable offering $400 for the M66 and $500 for the Single Six. It was the Python that I needed info on.

Hopefully we aren't talking like this about ARs and Tavors some day. But I might be able to afford a 10.5" British IUR then;)
