if i want to send my handgun out to get some work done on it how do i go about doing that?

Get the address of the smith
Call CFC and get an ATT to the post office
Send the gun xpresspost, signature required (with insurance) to the smith
Pack it well and don't tell the postie what's in it. Tell them it's a carburator. That's CFC regs to avoid tempatation towards theft.
