Pistols Suck! Get over it.

Handguns are easier to move around, hide, quicker to draw and faster...for most things.

People are far then bullet proof...my god, a good hit with a thrown rock could put someone down.

Get over yourself and get some hair or wear a hat!

Hopefully some of you guys will actually do some research on this topic and formulate some new opinions. Listen to what he said, google the terms he referred to. Expand your horizons.:)

hmmmm should I trust a guy who was left in his hotel room alone, while the rest of his employees are out drinking?

So this expert is telling us what we already new. Mindblowing!

Well, some of us already knew this, others are unwilling to open their minds and learn. Then again, most who own a firearm let alone a handgun have no professional training. They are enthusiasts.

Rifles trump shotguns, shotguns trump handguns.

Apples and oranges. Each has its place. How about rifles suck get over it. Now lets talk tanks...

I wonder what kind of turn around time there would be on the LTATT for a tank couple weeks most likely. I'm just making and assumption that it would be a restircted firearm. Prohib? naw couldn't be.:p

Depends on what you need to do.

Clays,birds, less then lethal

Power,range, accuracy

Concealed, self protection

Buddy is stirring s**t with buy using the suck word although in some circles it might be considered a compliment.....:D

How about watching the video first before posting? He concedes that handguns are more compact, and really the only option for CC, but are far from the ideal choice if you're going to where you know you'll be in a firefight. Really, stuff that should be plain as day....

Exactly.

I guess there must be a bunch of folks out there that think a handgun is the be all ,end all of firearms and this video wisdom is for them?

At 1:05 of the vid, this expert says "pistols are not the tool of choice to bring to a fight for your life." At what point did he say "firefight"? Where does this "fight for your life" take place? In the sands of Afganistan? or in the hallway of your home?

What was this expert trying to say anyway? To whom is this video addressed? Civilians or military?

Try pulling an AR out of your pocket in a "fight for your life"....ridiculous!

Obviously pistols are not the best choice for all situations, neither are long guns.

Your best weapon in any fight is your mind (smarts) including presence of mind and mindset.
Again look at Sgt. York's story and tell me what won the day for him. It was his Enfield, 1911 and above all his mind/training. You fight with what you got.

This guy is a glib talking, money making entrepeneur...IMO, just like the late night get-rich-quick tv paid-ad promoters or tele-evangelists....:ar15:

Sorry guys, definitely not worth the bandwidth.

I don't disagree that the man is the weapon, but, reality check, not everyone is Alvin York. (Not to mention who knows how much history actually happened versus propaganda...) Even if you are, you want to put as many odds in your favour as you can. I don't understand the thought process that would lead a person to choose lower ammunition capacity, effectiveness, and lower ease of use in a situation that would allow them to choose greater.

The message I got was that one should not be disillusioned about the capability of handguns (romanticizing the 'gunslinger' in civilian life as much as the 'marksman' used to be in the military). That they're not like in the movies, and choosing a handgun is, at best, a compromise. When you think about it, it's kind of a good reason to train even harder to increase your proficiency; you're not using the ideal tool, so become better.

For starters its less lethal. Not less than lethal.

Personally I don't care about the tools for sport use. The discussion in the video and the only point that matters is personal defense. With that regard a rifle trumps shotgun and a shotgun trumps pistol. Agent law has it figured out and explains it very clearly.
