Hey all. I really like the idea of a piston impingement gun. My dream is to eventually own a pof ar15 but at the moment I have a bushmaster that is serving me just fine. At anyrate I came across a kit to install on my at and have been really pondering it latley. My questions are;
Are there differences in manufactures between the kits? Any I should be weary of?
Any compatability concerns?

Next I've been reading about triggers. As of yet I have a standard bushy trigger in and I thought it was just fine. I have never felt another trigger to really know the difference. But again how much of a difference will it make?

Any insight is appreciated.

If you are doing standard "plinking" or the usual CQB/3gun/service rifle matches the stock trigger will work just fine. Some dudes like running a lighter match trigger for service rifle, but it is up to the end user. If you are shooting past 300m, a lighter trigger doesn't hurt.

No experience with the piston driven AR's, can't help there.

For a novice person on the internals of the AR trigger system I would recomend Timney 3lbs small whole trigger.
As for the upper...

If you are going to shoot in formal service Rifle competitions, check the rules. You may find a 2.5kg minimum weight.
The best reason to get a piston conversion kit is because you want one.
But this has nothing to do with ending up with a better rifle.

Hmm well those help. I was cruising wolverine and noted the timmney trigger as well as the Adams arms kit I think I may pick them up. In not into competition shooting yet, but at the very least it would be nice to have some upgrades "under the hood" to help make it more avail for future endevors
