piston problem

As already discuss, my op rop is kissing the piston that is about 2-3mm out of the gas cylender. The question is about something relate to this.
When I slowly remove the gas plug (what give more space to the piston to move) the op rod stil going forward and make the bolt going forward about 1-2mm. (what it seem to be the normal play of the bolt.

I was just wondering if the piston problem can lead to a bolt problem?

It's suppose to rest on the piston, which in turn rests on the gas cylinder plug......that's normal.

hungry ,in his video states that some guys will fine tune their rifles by removing the extra material at the end of the plug so that the op rod will just kiss it.[ i hope i got that right or i'll look like an ass]

Either the piston stops the op-rod, or the bolt camming lug will.......
I think the piston and gas plug are far more robust then the bolt camming lug, and I think the designers of the M14 thought the same thing.
