Hi Folks,
(Nube here so feel free to rip my plan apart- really welcome comments here)
I plan to buy a

https://www.globalindustrial.ca/p/storage/safes-security/business-home-office-safes/burglary-file-safe-cabinet-2-hr-factory-fire-rating-digital-lock-22w-x-22d-x-40h.

it is around 300lbs and I feel safer with that kind of weight to prevent theft..
I will be storing 1 pistol, 1 revolver and 1 AR15 (36.5 total length). The safe size is 16x19x36.5 so I plan to disassemble the AR15 before storing (if required).
Thoughts.. am I being stupid here?
Thanks in Advance.

Another choice would be https://www.globalindustrial.ca/p/storage/safes-security/business-home-office-safes/burglary-file-safe-cabinet2-hr-factory-fire-rating-digital-lock22w-x-22d-x-26-1-2h which is
200lbs and
18x16.5x23.. would a S&W M&P®15 SPORT™ II disassembled bottom fit into this? (even diagonally)

I will be storing ammo in a seperate less expensive safe.

Why would you buy that for a thousand dollars when you could get an actual gun safe for about the same price?

Cabelas has one on sale right now for $650 that is better suited for firearms: https://www.cabelas.ca/product/102541/liberty-provault-18-gun-safe

I'm going to say No. $1k should buy you more safe space than that. 300lbs is decent, not good, but not #### either for that size.

https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/redhead-1856-collection-ultra-fire-resistant-gun-safe $899
https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/provault-electronic-lock-18-gun-safe-by-liberty $680

trolling much?

300 pounds ! Mine is 690 pounds…
I store my gun assembled. If your interest change - we all do - the space to store a full length gun will be handy.
Buy once..cry once.
Get a real gun safe..plenty to choose.

Real safes can't be found at box stores and cost $2500+. Until you reach that threshold there's not much difference between $200 bolted down and $2000 sitting on the floor.
