I'm playing around with the same bullets from a Cast boolets group buy, I have the plain base version and the gas check version, also waiting on a 405grain version with gas check. For me they are very accurate and pure hell on big beavers, but I'll have to wait till Nov. to try them on deer, for now I'm telling folks to wait for a broadside shot on deer. I don't know if the Penta point of yours will make any diff. on game or target. I'm really looking forward to the .513" hollow point(big gaping hollow) for my 50/90 Sharps. Keep us informed on results with that mean looking bullet...

They're light enough that you should be able to drive them pretty fast.
With a H/P that size I'd be worried about it blowing up at high speed though.
It look like it could expand to the size of a dinner plate.
Please let us know what any recovered bullets look like.

Those must be the Himec moulds from Germany? I've seen some very evil-looking .45 ACP bullets from them as well.
I don't cast, but isn't 30:1 pretty soft? Will you be able to drive those fast enough to need the gas check?
It will be interesting to hear how those work on game.

I helped design the .444 Marlin/.44 mag. version 3 years ago and it is absolute hell on deer. I too was worried about the pentagon point so I used a duplex cast, soft hollow point followed up by straight wheel weights. The bullet entered the left side just behind the heart and devastation is an understatement. The deer hit the dirt (he was running full tilt 90 deg. to me) and I don't think he even kicked. When I recovered the bullet just under the opposite skin layer it was missing 2 of the 5 petals but the other three were opened nicely.
I have also tried the same mold with the normal round hollow point on moose and it expanded nicely without the duplex lead mixture.
Miha makes a great mold and I highly recommend him to anyone. It doesn't take long to break the crammer hollow point version of his molds in and once you get going, it is amazing the number of bullets you can crank out in a short time.
