I read that we should always pattern ammo to see which our choke/gun combination prefers.
Problem is that hunting loads are not allowed at my club. Is there a club in S. Ontario where one has a
patterning board and allowed the use of hunting loads?

Its not complicated, but generally people are not turned on by driving two hours one way just to find crown land

I'm sure that if I lived any further from such suitable land, it would seem even more worth getting there. I love cities for their ability to contain so many people who would otherwise be cluttering up the wild.

I agree with keeping it simple, so I pattern on a flattened cardboard box.

I’ve switched to cardboard boxes as well, I can get as many big boxes as I like at the store and they don’t flap around in the wind as I try to staple them to my target stand out in the bush. After I’m done with them I toss them in the cardboard recycling bin at the dump which is free.

Just take a few different rounds with you when hunting, watch the patterns on the water when shooting cripples, not hard to tell what is working for your gun, choke combination
