Hi all I am looking for some places to shop around for long distance precision rifles like a parker hale m82 or McMillan M1A in Canada preferably. Any help would be appreciated :)

a good start would be to join the Equipment Exchange (which will currently be marked as private unless you've applied for membership to them) and put up a WTB (Wanted To Buy) ad.

to apply for membership, click on 'User CP' in the upper left of your forum screen, then scroll down to the bottom and click on 'Group Memberships' under the heading 'Miscellaneous'. you will see several different groups you can join. choose the one's you think are applicable to you and join. it can take a few weeks to get authorization as mod's are busy peoples (speaking of which mods...my application for the youth forum is still pending...I applied last month).

you may also want to subscribe to the monthly newsletter 'Canadians Access to Firearms'...you can subscribe here: http://canadianguns.com/main.htm. if you're not sure you want to subscribe, they do offer a complimentary copy (I just got mine a few weeks ago) to see if you're truly interested in it.

hope these suggestions help!

I am in BC.

To add to this I have just been looking at the Remington M24. Any one know how this gun performs from experience?

"...Remington M24..." Hi. It's a gussied up and very expensive Rem M700. They're not necessarily easy to come by in Canada. If you can even get one. A heavy barreled, .308 Win, M700 will do nicely(think SPS Varmint or 'tactical'.). Depending on what you want to do with it. Factory ammo won't cut it for optimal accuracy either.

Model 700 Police, or Savage Model 10 with Federal Gold Medal Match performs superbly, the police just needs to be bedded and the trigger adjusted a bit but both can shoot 1/2" groups with factory GMM ammo. Much cheaper than M24.
