Places to Look

Other than here, what suggestions are there for places to look for a used Precision Fit Stock for my Beretta? I've seen a few used units for sale, but they always seem to be for the wrong make of grip. (I have a nice enough 687 EELL set, so getting a Perazzi or Krieghoff to match up to an available grip is just not in the cards! ;))

There is good news and bad news.

The good news is that grips on the Precision Fit can be changed to fit specific models. Here's a link to what's available.

The bad news is that I doubt the standard Beretta grip would work with an EELL because of the sideplates.

Maybe you need to buy a Perazzi after all. ;)

I _THINK_ Lawry Shooting Sports has, or can bring in the grip only. Not sure as to the compatibility with the EELL though.

Brad.

A standard Beretta PFS grip will not work on the EELL. The side plates are longer than the grip. A talented individual could probably modify them to work and look half decent. I know this because I compared a Beretta grip to my 687EELL.

Claybuster and Beretta 687EELL, you are both right. It won't fit. I was hoping that you were wrong, so I contacted the manufacturer. So, right from the horse's mouth, it won't work.

I really, really, want to get a stock to fit me, and getting a custom wood stock is just not going to happen. I just may have to trade off my Beretta and go to a make/model that can accomodate the Precision Fit Stock.

Sorry to hear that. Sideplated boxlocks are nice to look can present obstacles that other guns don't have.

However, every EELL I've seen has pretty nice looking wood. Is there any chance you can get a stockfitter/woodworker to reshape the current stock so that it does fit? I've done this with a couple of guns and it is a far less expensive alternative to either a fitted stock or a PFS. Another option might be an adjustable comb and/or butt plate.

I already have an adjustable cheek piece AND an adjustable butt. It looks like it was designed by Rube Goldberg and it still doesn't fit me the way it ought to in order to be comfortable. I think the Precision Fit has a more adaptable adjustment system with more adjustment also.

It also doesn't break my heart to have recoil reduction, even though I can't blame my scores on recoil!

Thanks for the input, gents.
