yeah, it does look alittle like a planet of the apes rifle but no, its a SKS in a .45 blowback.

our members have done a SKS in 303 and 223 but i dont think i heard of a .45 before.

You guys have no sense of humor at all. curtton was only implying his rifle had the same gerneral appearance. Not that it was a carbon copy.

That is a very interesting combination by the way. I was thinking of doing something similar in 357 magnum, or maybe even 45 long colt. The action, is just about the right size and plenty strong enough, even for the stoutest loads. Lots of fiddling with the bolt face and extractor though.

the gas block appears to be that of a yugo model sks and shortened 'gas' tube with out wood upper handguard. cool but odd looking.

I just had to share my knowledge of the M1 Carbine that was used in the movie.
I know because that is NOT Charlton Heston holding the gun. He was sick that day & as his standin I took over for the photo shoot.

BTW. That loin cloth made me itch.

alittle off track but you guys got to see what charltons gun room looks like , wow, and nope , i didnt see a planet of the apes rifle in there.:D
