Plastic build up in choke tubes?

Admittedly, I don't shoot high volume and have not had any major issues as such. However, soaking the tubes overnight in solvent and then applying the old routine of drill/brush combo clean those out real well. I've observed thin strands of plastic substance stuck around the bristles.

I shoot enough to have to periodically have to remove plastic buildup in the choke tubes and in the barrels just ahead of the forcing cones. What I have found to work very well is plain old WD40, spray it liberally in the tubes / barrels and let soak for a few minutes, respray and soak for a few more then scrub with your bore brush.

I don't use or like Choke tubes. But I will agree with Ahsan that is the best way to clean them.

Absolute magic on wad fouling and powder residue on semi-autos. Have to see it to believe it. And I use it to scrub my rifle bores too.

We bought an ultrasound cleaner from Brownell's, they look like new once done. Bore brush wrapped with a wee bit of 0000 steel wool attached to a drill press also works quite well.

I clean my guns evry time I go to the range, I use amzoil and let it sit for a bit, then pull a bore snake through the barrel - they are super clean that way.
I have had to use acetone type cleaners and a brush chucked into a cordless drill on some friend's chokes ,however.
