plastic pop rivets in tapco mags?

I'd feel better trusting the aluminium rivets myself, the plastic ones may crack off after a while. Not sure on the legality of the plastic, but don't see why it wouldn't be allowed. Ive never seen anything written that states what it has to be made of.

Exactly my thought, technically not easily removed in the field. Its not metal but the rest of my mag is "plastic" anyhow. Aluminum tends to oxidize especially when in contact with other metals/ chemicals. Black plastic would blend in nicely with a black mag.

My plastic Tapco mags don't use any rivets.

They just have a floor-plate that bottoms out at five rounds.

Have they changed the design of them lately?

Both require the same method to remove/tamper..a flush fit abs rivet still requires drilling or punching to remove like a flush metal rivet.

New mags have an ugly metal rivet through side into the blocking plug, problem with that was once the rivet was clamped it expands and actually pushed up the plug a heavy 1/16" preventing me from closing the bolt with a full mag. Doesnt leave the required 1/2 round of space to clear the bolt.

Tapco has changed their pinning method. Baur Arms as well uses the same new metal rivet.
I painted my rivet black.
