Id like for someone to do a cross review of all polys m and p and xd glock etc to compair them back to back shooting Id be very curious about the results. I like them all but Id like to see function and what they do on paper with the same ammo

You would think that shooting 4 different guns with the same ammo would be a good way to compare accuracy.

Does not work that way.

First each gun is unique. 4 identical guns with consecutive serial numbers can easily get the best accuracy with 4 different brands/bullet weights. As a gun owner, you have to try different loads to see what your gun prefers.

So, if you shot 4 different guns with the same ammo, you would only discover which gun liked that ammo the most. It would mean nothing about the gun you bought.

When testing, it takes a test of 10 identical guns before one can make a general statement like "The M&P does not do well with 147gn bullets". (I just made that up. I have not tested 10 identical M&P9s and have no idea if there is a general preference.)

If one was to test 4 different guns, each should be shot through a Ranson Rest with, say, 6 different brands/weights of bullets. Then you could see which gun, on average shot best. But even then, the results would have less validity about that model of gun in general. The test gun could be better or worse than most other examples of the same gun.

For example, I tested a single pistol with a variety of 9mm ammo (handholds). Same bullet and same primer and same powder. Only variable was powder charge.

It did well with 3.3 gr and terrible with 3.9 gr. You can see that if i only tested it with a single load, my opinion of the gun would be totally dependent on the luck of how much the gun liked that particular load.

Same thing happens with factory loads. A gun will do better with one and poorly with another.

I don't have any polymer guns but I've shot a variety of them over the years. I found that they all shoot well and they all shoot more tightly than the shooter can hold. The only exception to this would be if the shooter was a higher ranked bullseye shooter. Then some of the guns may prove out to be the limiting factor.

It comes down to YOU and how the gun fits YOUR hands along with your mastery of the basics of good shooting. So it's really not worth seeing how well someone else can do and which gun THEY prefer.

Case in point. A buddy recently got an M&P. Having larger hands we fitted it with the medium size filler as that one felt the best. I'm not the world's best shot but I do OK. I found that I was getting 4'ish inch groups at around 15 yards out and that the groups tended to be slightly to the left. We shot a few mags each then fitted it with the small size grip to let his wife try it. We then shot it with the smaller back grip and VOILA! My groups shrunk to around 3'ish inches and they were centered. The gun with the small grips sure didn't feel as good in the hands. But there was no arguing with the results. My buddy that bought the gun shoots a little bigger for groups due to "old guy eye'tis" but he also saw the same results with the grip switch.

The moral of this story is that fit in YOUR hands counts for more than any variation in factory quality. So you'll need to find a way to try a few yourself.

I geuss this is fair. But id still like to see them all run side by side it couldnt hurt im not saying for myself But theres alot of new shooters joing this forum almost seems like spike in the sport which is good i see now lost of should i get a glock 17 or 19 etc i just feel having a genral video of all the polys side by side compaired via ergo grip bore axis etc would be good. I know one may shoot better over the other depending i geuss i kind forgot half way through what i was typing...it was 1:16am lol i ment more informative But still have them run the guys see what the will do.
